Built over two years with help from talented friends, Aynslie’s tiny home is filled with thoughtful and surprising features. Inside, there are stained glass windows, theatre lights, recycled timber, smart storage, a clever TV pulley system, a home office loft, a rooftop wine deck, a pull-out wardrobe and a brilliant bathroom layout that makes incredible use of the available space.

Aynslie began her tiny house journey with very little building experience, joking that only a few years ago she didn’t know what a hammer was. What she has created is a home that is completely her own, full of creativity, independence, community and clever tiny house design ideas throughout.

The result is a magical 9m x 3m tiny home that reflects Aynslie’s personality. From the vibrant blue walls and stained glass windows to the theatre lights, Shakespeare references, recycled timber floors, live-edge benchtops and rooftop wine deck, this is not an off-the-shelf tiny house. It is a home filled with character, humour, clever design and deeply personal details. The compact kitchen includes an oven, dishwasher, coffee station and a safari window that opens the space beautifully to the outdoors.

A hidden spice rack is tucked into a pocket door, the stairs are packed with storage, and the lounge is cleverly split across two levels to create separation and add useful underfloor space. One of the standout features is the pulley TV, which can be lowered for movie nights and then lifted away to reveal the view again. The lounge also includes a storage couch that converts into a double bed, while a beautiful antique fireplace, believed to date back to around 1916, adds a wonderful sense of history to the space.
